Cinnamon scrolls are a delightful treat that are perfect for breakfast or a sweet snack. Here’s a recipe along with the ingredients you’ll need:

Ingredients:

For the dough:

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 large eggs

For the filling:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

For the cream cheese glaze (optional):

  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk

Instructions:

1. Prepare the dough:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, granulated sugar, salt, and yeast.
  • In a small saucepan, heat the milk, butter, and water over low heat until the butter is melted and the mixture is warm (about 110°F/45°C).
  • Gradually add the milk mixture to the dry ingredients, followed by the eggs. Mix until well combined.
  • Stir in the remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, until a soft dough forms.
  • Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.

2. Let the dough rise:

  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm, draft-free place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

3. Prepare the filling:

  • In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon until well combined.

4. Assemble the cinnamon scrolls:

  • Punch down the risen dough and roll it out on a lightly floured surface into a large rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Spread the cinnamon filling evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  • Starting from one long edge, tightly roll up the dough into a log.
  • Using a sharp knife or dental floss, cut the log into 12 equal-sized rolls.

5. Let the scrolls rise again:

  • Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, leaving a little space between each roll.
  • Cover the dish with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap and let the rolls rise for another 30-45 minutes, or until puffed up.

6. Bake the cinnamon scrolls:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Once the rolls have risen, bake them in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Remove the rolls from the oven and let them cool slightly in the pan.

7. Prepare the cream cheese glaze (optional):

  • In a medium bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth.
  • Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, and beat until creamy.
  • Gradually add the milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the glaze reaches your desired consistency.

8. Glaze the cinnamon scrolls:

  • Drizzle the cream cheese glaze over the warm cinnamon scrolls.
  • Serve the scrolls warm and enjoy the deliciousness!

These homemade cinnamon scrolls are sure to be a hit with family and friends. Enjoy the warm, gooey goodness straight from the oven
